An RF front end is a module containing several dies, passives, a laminate substrate and an overmould, not a single component. The declaration therefore has to cover the whole assembly, and the substance most often at issue is lead in the internal solder joints under exemption 7a rather than anything in the semiconductor itself.

- The directive revision, including the 2015/863 phthalate amendment.
