What to check for Semiconductors

Large FPGAs ship in flip chip BGA packages, where lead has historically been used in the solder balls and in the die interconnect. Exemption 15 covers lead in solder for flip chip in integrated circuit packages, and it is one of the exemptions most frequently reviewed. A declaration for these parts that names no exemption at all deserves a follow up question.

What a usable RoHS declaration contains

The part number and package variant covered.
The issue date of the document.
The directive revision, including the 2015/863 phthalate amendment.
Every exemption claimed, by its number.
A named signatory.
